Funeral services for Arthur M. Bergman, formerly of Tipton, were held Saturday, Mar. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church with Rev. Harland T. Grant in charge. Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Mr. Bergman operated a shoe store in Marengo from 1928 to 1946 when he sold the store. He died Mar. 9 at the Watts hospital.

At the services, Mrs. R. R. Hibbs was organist for the selections, "Nearer Still Nearer" and "Beyond the Sunset" sung by Lois Jacobs, Mrs. Maude Bishop, Mrs. Glenn Ellis and Mrs. Lloyd Jones.

In charge of flowers were Mrs. E. C. Meyers, Mrs. L. E. Paine, Mrs. Oscar Misel, Mrs. Vivian Brown and Mrs. A. I. Solbrig.

Casket bearers were Oscar Misel, Lyle Alverson, Richard Johnston, Wayne Lympus, R. B. Gailbraith and Edward Blinkinsop.

Arthur Martin Bergman was born at Longtown, Mo., Sept. 1, 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Bergman.

At the age of 14 he moved with his parents to Perryville, Mo. When yet a young man he moved to Tipton, working at the Elwood department store. In 1928 he came to Marengo and purchased the shoe store owned by Ed Kelso, which he operated until 1946.

On Sept. 17, 1915, he married Dorotha Parsons, of Tipton.

He is survived by his wife, a brother, L. J. Bergman, Storm Lake, two sisters Mrs. Edgar Killian, Perryville, Mo. and Mrs. Leo Kennedy, Denver, Colo.
