Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Tipton Presbyterian church for William Chappell who passed away last Saturday at his home in this city. Services were in charge of the Rev. Mr. Poston, with interment in the Red Oak Grove cemetery.

William Chappell, the eldest of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. James Chappell, was born in Red Oak Grove, Cedar county, Iowa, September 23, 1869, and passed away at his home in Tipton, Iowa, March 26, 1932, at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 3 days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Elsen on March 1, 1917, and to this union one daughter, Ada May, was born. The family made their home on the home farm until moving to Tipton seven years ago because of the ill health of Mr. Chappell.

Beside the wife and daughter he leaves two sisters, Elsie and Susie Chappell as well as other relatives and friends.
