9 February 1912 - The Lowden News

Mrs. Lillie Hostler, wife of A. B. Hostler, died Friday morning at her home, 1031 Brady street, Davenport, after an extended illness. However since she went to Davenport a few months ago to doctor for her ailment her relatives thought she had greatly improved. We were told the immediate cause of her death was heart trouble.

She was born in Bennett, Ia., September 21st, 1874, her maiden name being Lillie Kinnan. She is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kinnan, living two miles north of Bennett. She was married to A. B. Hostler, Sept. 11th, 1895, and always lived in Bennett up to shortly before they moved to Davenport, when they stayed at the Kinnan home place.

She leaves to mourn her early death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kinnan, four brothers, Roy, Wm., Charles and Harry, all except Wm., reside in and near Bennett; and one sister, Mrs. Ira Winters, of Davenport. The body was sent out from Davenport Friday evening and the remains were taken to the home of her parents where the funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock and interment was made in the Inland cemetery. Mrs. Hostler although ailing for some time was always quite cheerful; she could always enjoy a laugh when in a crowd of old acquaintances. The News expresses it's sympathy herein with the bereaved family.

Mr. Kinnan, father of the deceased, was not able to attend his daughter's funeral, on account of having broken a leg a couple of weeks ago. His limb is healing slow.
