Florentine Louise Busching, nee Niermeyer, the daughter of the late Henry Niermeyer and wife, Charlotte, nee Dircks, was born on August 31, 1890, on a farm near Lowden, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy, and confirmed by the Rev. F. Werning on April 16, 1905, at the Zion Evangelical Church in Lowden.

On January 24, 1917, she was married to Henry G. Busching at her parents home near Lowden, the Rev. Reichert officiating. This union was blessed with two daughters.

Mrs. Busching passed away early Saturday evening, August 15, 1955 at her home in Olin, having reached the age of 64 years, 11 months and 13 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her two daughters, Alice and Alberta; her two sons-in-law, Fred and Arno Lawson; one brother, William Niermeyer of Lowden; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Toerber and Mrs. Emil Hein of Lowden; Mrs. Erich Von Muenster of Bennett; Mrs. Anna Thede of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Niermeyer.

Mrs. Busching and her husband farmed six miles northwest of Clarence for about thirty years. After her husband's death she moved to a new home in Olin. Mrs Busching was a kind and loving mother, her chief interest being her home and family. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She was a member of the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Women's Guild at Clarence, the Ladies Aid of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Sorosis Federated Club at Olin.

Funeral services were held at the Clarence St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 1955, with Rev. M. L. Dutro of Olin conducting the service. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet singing "He Leadeth Me" and "God Will Take Care of You", accompanied by Rosalee Hartwig at the organ. In charge of the beautiful floral tributes were Mrs. Paul Busching and Mrs. Elmer Meyer. Casket bearers were her nephews: Wilfred Niermeyer, Henry Neirmeyer, Harold Toerber, Everette Von Muenster, Everette Oetting and Frederick Oetting.

Interment was made in the Clarence Cemetery.
