Anna Maxine Irey was born July 10, 1916 in Oelwein, Iowa, and was the daughter of William Henry and Frances Alice MacNeill. Mrs. Irey attended school in Oelwein graduating in 1934. After graduating she did office and secretarial work in Oelwein and Cedar Rapids.

Anna Maxine was united in marriage to Don Irey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on February 10, 1942 in the Presbyterian Manse at Oelwein, Iowa with the Rev. Dr. L. W. Hauter officiating.

Mrs. Irey has been a resident of both Clarence and Tipton for a number of years, and also joined her husband while he was in service. She enjoyed her home and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Irey passed away at her home at 101 East 3rd street, Tipton, Iowa on Wednesday, July 13, 1955, after having reached the age of 39 years and 3 days. She was preceded in death by both her father and mother and one brother, Billy.

She is survived by her husband Don Irey, two brothers, Lloyd MacNeill of Cedar Falls, Earl MacNeill of Lombard, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Olson of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Hannah Edgar of Dubuque, Iowa, Mrs. Nancy Thein of Clarence, Iowa and Mrs. Betty Newton of Oelwein, Iowa and also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted in the Brant Funeral Chapel in Oelwein by Rev. Dr. L. W. Hauter and was laid peacefully to rest on Saturday, July 16th, 1955, in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein, Iowa.
