Nellie Irene Brink, born April 19, 1875 to Emma Hoadley and Henry Brink on a farm near Clarence, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, November 30th, 1957, having reached the age of 82 years, 7 months and 11 days.

She received her early schooling in Clarence and later at Epworth Normal and Cedar Falls Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught in the rural schools of Cedar and Jones counties.

On December 4, 1901 she was united in marriage to William Alexander Moffet who passed away in 1948. Four children were born to this union, Forest William and Maurice Brink Moffit of Mechanicsville; Mildred, Mrs. Fred T. Hargrove of Carthage, Texas; and Helen, Mrs. Leoral S. Evans of Mt. Vernon.

Also surviving are five grandchildren: John, Charles, Janell and William Moffit and Mary Evans; two sisters: Mrs. Effie Pennington of Linn Grove, Iowa and Miss Elma Brink of Clarence, Iowa.

A brother, Charles Brink, preceded her in death in 1956.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mechanicsville where she had taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was also a member of the Board of Education and served as president for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville on Tuesday, December 3, 1957 at 2 p.m.
