30 September 1910 - The Lowden News

As we reported last week Miss Anna Drichel, the twenty-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Drichel, died last Friday morning at a Clinton hospital. Her sudden death and the nature of her ailment prior caused the attending physician to call in other doctors to jointly look into the cause of the young lady's demise. There were six doctors present and they concluded that Miss Drichel had died of infantile paralysis. We understand that these physicians reached this conclusion from the history of the case, the symptoms and the hospital charts.

Besides the sorrowing parents, two brothers and two sisters survive to mourn Miss Anna's sudden death.

Miss Drichel was buried here Saturday afternoon in the Van Horn cemetery beside her brother, John, who was buried only eight days before. Deepest sympathy is extended by the entire community to the bereaved family.
