Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 21, for Mrs. Joseph O. Svoboda, Mechanicsville. She died suddenly Sunday Oct. 19. Reverend Eugene Miller officiated at the services. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Grace Helen (Ruble) Svoboda, daughter of Jesse and Seltha Carr Ruble was born December 29, 1896 at Mechanicsville. She attended school in the Mechanicsville area.

On January 25, 1916 she was united in marriage to Joseph O. Svoboda at Tipton. They spent most of their married life in the Mechanicsville and Mt. Vernon communities.

To this couple were born a daughter, Marion Langerbeam of Marion, a son Charles of Clarence and twin sons, Vern of Tipton and Glen of Mechanicsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Nowichkie. She is survived by her husband, children, one sister, Maude L. Ruble and one brother William Ruble, both of Cedar Rapids, also eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one niece.
