Terry Joe Pruess, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milford Pruess, was killed about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 31 when a car driven by Stanley Eugene Kohl, 20, Stanwood, missed a curve on a county road south of Lisbon.

The car went out of control, rolled over and struck a utility pole. The car was northbound when the accident took place. Kohl received head injuries in the crash. He is in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at the United Methodist church in Mechanicsville with the Rev. James Nelson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edward Smith, Steve Kohl, Marvin Thurston, Ronald Braddock, Bruce Penningroth and David Becker. Mrs. Leroy Wendt was vocalist. The Horner funeral service was in charge.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Milford Pruess, he was born Sept. 3, 1950. He was a 1969 graduate of the Lincoln Community school and attended the Iowa Auto and Diesel Mechanics school at Cedar Rapids. He was engaged in farming with his father.

He is survived by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Thomas and Rickey; a sister, Carol; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Pruess and Mrs. Gladys Scott. His maternal grandfather, Hurley Scott, preceded him in death.
