Final rites for Mrs. Anna M. Butterbrodt, 85, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home July 28 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Pallbearers were Raymond and Walter Conrad, Marvin Muesing, Raymond Geadelmann and Harold Syring.

Terri Thompson was vocalist and Mrs. Arnold Swan organist. Mrs. William Stiff, Mrs. Dean Minteer and Mrs. Robert Butterbrodt were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Butterbrodt died at Cedar Manor July 25 following an extended illness.

The daughter of Fred William and Alma Meiners Eilers, she was born in Eschwarden, Germany, Dec. 21, 1885 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county and the Zion church school at Lowden.

She was married to William Carl Butterbrodt at Clarence Nov. 20, 1902 and was a resident of the Clarence area for 81 years. She moved to Tipton following the death of her husband in 1946. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. John (Velma) Stuehm, Bennett; Mrs. Leonard(Erna) Kruse, Wilton and Frieda Butterbrodt, Tipton; a son, William, Clarence; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters and 6 brothers.
