Services were held May 25 for Edwin Koering at the United Methodist church, Stanwood, with the Rev. James Nelson in charge. The music was furnished by the church trio composed of Mrs. Wayne Brown, Mrs. Douglas Jackson and Mrs. Clifford Crist accompanied by Mrs. Edward Speer. Mrs. Charles Thomson and Mrs. Ora Hoy had charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were Elmer Bixler, V. A. Wood, August Amend, Herbert Crock, Arnold Klein and Harlan Miles. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Clarence.

He died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Saturday morning, May 22, following a lingering illness.

The son of Charles and Alvina Von Behren Koering he was born Oct. 2, 1912 on a farm near Stanwood and spent his whole life in this community.

On Oct. 25, 1936 he married Florence Ebert, Clarence in Clarence. Surviving are his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Claire (Virjean) Countryman, Tipton, and Marcia Koering, Cedar Rapids, a son, Larry, Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Arthur, Stanwood, and Richard, Cedar Rapids, 3 sisters, Mrs. Viola McGuire, Olin; Mrs. Edna Hamer, Shellsburg, and Mrs. Ruth Burda, Oxford Junction.

Preceding in death were his parents and one sister, Dorothy Pye.
