Lisbon - Funeral services for Melvin Andre, 77, were held in the Morgan Funeral home Nov. 24. The Rev. Howard Mace officiated. Don Bohr, Willard Heneks, Maurice Kohl, Ralph Kohl, Roy Kohl and Clarence Morningstar were pallbearers. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery.

Mr. Andre died in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Nov. 20 following an illness of several months.

Melvin Milo Andre, son of Adna and Barbara Kohl Andre, was born March 11, 1895. He lived on the family farm 7 miles southwest of Mechanicsville until retiring and moving to Lisbon 3 years ago.

He attended school in the Lisbon and Mechanicsville communities and graduated from a business college in Davenport. He spent most of his life farming.

Mr. Andre was a member of the Church of God as a boy and after the country church was abandoned he became a member of the Federated church in Lisbon.

He is survived by a brother, Leo, Olin and a sister, Pearl, with whom he made his home; also a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
