Clarence - Funeral services for Hiram James Welliver, 79, Clarence, were held at the Chapman Funeral Home at Clarence June 27. The Rev. James Lusher conducted the service with Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch providing the music. Burial was at Riceville.

Mr. Welliver was born in Pennsylvania Jan. 26, 1893, the son of John and Dausha Welliver. He was a retired carpenter. He died at the Veterans administration hospital, Iowa City, June 24, where he had been a patient a month.

Survivors are 3 sons, Glen, Morrisville, Pa.; Dale, Charles City and Eugene, Melville, Pa.; 4 grandchildren, 2 sisters and a brother.
