Mary Engel died Saturday morning at 2:30 at her home here in Bennett at the age of 39 years and 11 months. Mrs. Abraham had been ailing for several years but her late sickness was of but a couple of days duration. She was always cheerful and could be about. Mrs. Abraham returned home sick from Davenport having been there a week visiting her two children. Mary Engel's first marriage was with John Eklund. Two children, Ellis and Ray, were born to this union. She was married to J. H. Abraham, her now sorrowing husband in 1898. She leaves to mourn her death besides Mr. Abraham two children, Ella and Ray, her mother, Mrs. Aug. Engel, of Vermillion; two sisters and a brother, namely, Mrs. Herman Drost of Limerick and Mrs. Lena Narauth of St. Louis, Mo., and August Engel.

The funeral was held here Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the house, Rev. Lee officiating. Interment was made in the Inland cemetery. The floral pieces were many and beautiful.
