Funeral services for Louis C. Kettering, 87, were held in the Horner Funeral home at Mechanicsville March 20, with the Rev. Norman Lawton officiating. Mrs. Calvin Robinson was organist.

Mr. Kettering died March 17 in the Hallmark Nursing home, Mt. Vernon, where he had been a patient for several weeks.

Harold Streets, Forest Johnson, David Edwards, James Glover, Alan Weets and Donald Puffer were pallbearers. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery, Lisbon.

Louis C. Kettering, the son of Ira and Caroline Sievers Kettering, was born July 29, 1885, on a farm southeast of Lisbon. He was married in 1908 to Inez E. Michael at Cargill, Mo. They moved to South Dakota where they farmed for several years. Mr. Kettering worked for the government during World War II. They lived in California for several years, moving to Mechanicsville in 1950.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1964. Survivors include 2 sisters, Mrs. Gladys Kepler and Mrs. Stell Mae Burd, also several nieces and nephews.
