Last rites for Mrs. Walter (Anna Maria) Wenndt, 86, were held at Trinity Lutheran church, Lowden, Nov. 29, 1988 with the Rev. Gary Ruckman officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Wenndt, Darwin Driscoll, Jess Axline, Robert Rouse, Dennis McAtee and Dennis Ruther. Honorary bearers were Dick Driscoll and Kurtis Wenndt. Olga Hoffmeier was organist. The Trinity Men's Choir sang.

Mrs. Wenndt died at the Clarence Nursing home Nov. 27.

The daughter of Ernest and Dorthea Rieckmann Kruckenberg, she was born at Hartley Dec. 21, 1901. She was married to Walter Wenndt at Lowden Oct. 11, 1922. He died May 20, 1967. The couple farmed in the Lowden area, retiring to Lowden in 1957. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Chris (Phyllis) Boedeker, Lowden and Mrs. Gervase (Lavone) Driscoll, Iowa City; 3 sons, Wilbert, Lowden; Lester, Jetmore, Kans. and Dale, Olin; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
