Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Dewey B. Bragg, 55, were held Tuesday, June 9 in the Horner Funeral home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Beaty McDonald in charge. Mrs. Russell Ward was vocalist with Mrs. E. H. Littig at the organ.

Mr. Bragg died in a Cedar Rapids hospital June 6 where he had been a heart patient for the past two weeks.

The son of Braxton and Hanna Bragg, Lancaster, Mo., he was born April 3, 1909. His parents died when he was quite young.

He was married to Lera Rascher, Whittier, on Nov. 25, 1939. They were the parents of three children, Loren, Robert and Jean. The Braggs moved to Mechanicsville from a farm near Mt. Vernon. They operated the Dry Cleaning establishment here for several years. The past six years Mr. Bragg has been employed as bridge foreman for the Cedar County Maintenance Dept.

He is survived by his wife, his sons, Loren, Mechanicsville and Robert, in the service at Dixon, Calif., and his daughter, Jean, at home. He is also survived by a step-son, James Clark, New Castle, Wyo., seven grandchildren and a number of cousins.

Pallbearers were Merwyn Boots, Alva Garmon, Orville Meyer, Gerald Osborn, Richard Smith and Leland Williams. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
