Stanwood - Ward McClellan, a longtime hardware dealer in this community, died in his home Tuesday at the age of 54, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services are set for Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Methodist church with Rev. Beaty McDonald officiating. The body is in the Chapman Funeral home, Clarence, and will be taken to the Stanwood church Friday morning.

He is survived by his wife and three brothers.

Stanwood - Funeral services for Ward McClellan, 54, were held Friday, Feb. 21, in the Methodist church, Stanwood, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Beaty McDonald officiated at the services with the funeral in charge of the Chapman funeral home, Clarence. Mrs. John Swift was soloist and Mrs. Edward Speer, organist. Mrs. William Hansen and Mrs. Hugo Hein were in charge the flowers.

Ward E. McClellan, son of Frank and Mamie Gaige McClellan, was born June 3, 1909 in Stanwood. He was married Nov. 10, 1930 to Ruth Mae Vittingle in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Order of Eagles and has had a hardware store in Stanwood for the past 30 years.

He is survived by his wife and three brothers, Robert, Edgar and Earl, all of Stanwood.

Pallbearers were Jim Jones, Elwood Hansen, Raymond Hein, Charles Long, Leonard Meyer and Charles Thomson. Honorary pallbearers were Hugo Hein, Carl Voss and Carl Haesemeyer. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.
