Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Alvin L. Kamberling, 68, were held at the First Presbyterian church in Mechanicsville, Dec. 30, with military services at Rose Hill cemetery.
Kamberling, a resident of Mechanicsville 18 years, died in Veterans hospital, Iowa City, Dec. 27 after a short illness.
Born June 17, 1895, near Lisbon, he was a World War I veteran and a member of the Busch-Dennis American Legion post at Mechanicsville.
Surviving are his wife, Eva Baxa Kamberling, to whom he was married June 17, 1919; two daughters, Mrs. Loren O'Connor, Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Francis Thomson, Mechanicsville; two sons, Leonard, Mechanicsville, and Leo, Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Ray, Mt. Vernon; Glenn, Mechanicsville, and Delmar, Davenport.
