Funeral services for George A. Scheeper, 66, Lowden, were held July 1, 1989 at Trinity Lutheran church in Lowden, with the Rev. Gary Ruckman officiating. Mrs. Melvin Wiebel was the organist and the Trinity men's choir sang. Pallbearers were Marnell Scheeper, Robert Scheeper, Barry Hoffmeier, Stacey Stolte, Stan Stolte and Shawn Stolte. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Scheeper died June 28 at University hospitals in Iowa City.

The son of William and Martha Kruckenberg Scheeper, he was born Jan. 6, 1923 in Lowden. He married Gladys Stolte Nov. 25, 1966 in Lowden. He was a farmer and a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Mr. Scheeper is survived by his wife; a sister, Olga Kohnert, Lowden and 4 brothers, John, Memphis, Tenn.; Edgar, Lowden; LeRoy, Davenport and Gerhardt, Calamus. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
