Augusta Frederika Henrietta Peters, nee Dau, was born March 4, 1858, in Tetzitz, Riegan, Pommern, Germany. She was married to Helmold Hack, and three years later he died. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Carl Peters and the same year they came to America and settled in Lowden. In 1884 a daughter was born to this union, but died soon afterwards. In 1892 they adopted a little girl whom they reared to womanhood, known here as Miss Zelma, who now resides at Lincoln, Nebr.

Mrs. Peters' husband was injured while employed with the C. & N.W. Ry. Co. some years ago and since that time has been an invalid and under her care, until about a year ago she was taken sick with stomach trouble and heart trouble, and had suffered much during this lengthy period. Her niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Ehlers, have been with them during this time and will continue to live here with Mr. Peters for the present.

Mrs. Peters passed away Sunday, June 10, at 6:30 o'clock. She leaves to mourn besides her husband, two brothers and a sister, all at Germany.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock at the house Tuesday afternoon followed by services at the Evangelical church rooms. Rev. J. Reichardt officiated. Interment was made in the Van Horn cemetery. The pall bearers were Wm. Gottschalk, Reinhold Breuer, Conrad Miller, John Burmeister, Henry Becker and Fred Richmann.
