Funeral services for John Henry Prush, 77, were held Aug. 9 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with Pastor Ralph Schneck officiating. Pallbearers were Hurly Scott, C. J. Miller, Forrest Shrope, J. R. Ross, Lester Nicoll and John Sauer. Laura Geller was organist.

Mr. Prush died Aug. 6 at Veterans hospital at Iowa City, following a short illness.

The son of John and Mary Fick Prush, he was born in Tipton April 10, 1888 and attended the rural Tipton schools. He lived most of his life in Cedar county, farming near Mechanicsville and later living in Mechanicsville. He had been at the Tipton Custodial home for 4 years.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Mr. Prush never married. He is survived by a nephew, Glenn Menecke of Mechanicsville.
