Clarence - Mrs. Augusta Behrens, 79, died May 25 in Wood's Nursing home at Tipton after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held May 28 at the Chapman Funeral Home with Dr. C. W. Ebbert of the United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Mrs. Behrens was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, Feb. 13, 1886. Her parents died in her early childhood and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Montz raised her. She had one sister, now deceased.

Mrs. Behrens came to America Nov. 23, 1913. She was married to Ernest O. Behrens Jan. 31, 1917. They farmed near Clarence.

They were the parents of 4 children: Mrs. Wallace (Hilda) Wingert, Tipton, Milton Behrens of Clarence, Roy Behrens, Rockford, Ill., and Erwin Behrens of New Liberty.

They also raised two grandchildren; Mrs. Roger (Verona) Tenley of Stanwood, and Richard Behrens of Clarence. They have 7 other grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

One grandchild preceded her in death, Mr. Behrens died May 2, 1964.
