Bennett - Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Butterbrodt, 88, were held at Peace United Church of Christ, May 20 with the Rev. Robert Ahrenrt officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery, Bennett.

Mrs. Butterbrodt died May 18 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edo Thien, Tipton, after a short illness.

Lena, daughter of Heinrich and Wilhelmine Reinking Hillman, was born at Greene May 9, 1876, and was educated in the rural Butler county schools. She was married to Henry Butterbrodt at Clarence March 6, 1896.

She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Bennett and the Women's Fellowship. She had been a resident of Cedar county for 70 years.

Mrs. Butterbrodt is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Edo (Ella) Thien, Mrs. William (Martha) Vitense, and Mrs. Gus (Anna) Stakey, all of Tipton; 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and a sister.
