Stanwood - Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Hayes, 78, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Cantrell, Thursday, Feb. 25, were held at Barker's Funeral Home, West Branch, Sunday, at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Elvig in charge. Burial was in Atalissa cemetery.

Pallbearers were her nephews, Clifton Jefferson, Clark Jefferson, Warren Wintermute, Roy Eckhardt, John Suess and Clyde Hubble.

Lina K. Hayes, daughter of Andrew and Nellie Watts Wintermute, was born August 31, 1886 near Muscatine.

She was married August 22, 1906 to Henry Hayes at Muscatine. She lived most of her life in the vicinity of Atalissa, West Liberty and West Branch, the last few years with her daughter, Mrs. Cantrell.

She was a member of Pleasant Prairie Methodist church near Muscatine and Adah Rebecca Lodge at West Liberty.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Henry (Nellie) Morrison, West Branch; Mrs. Frank (Marie) Lamborn, Kerrville, Texas; Mrs. Paul (Lina) Cantrell, Stanwood; 2 sons, Leonard, Memphis, Tenn.; and Delbert, West Branch.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Henry Eckhardt, Davenport and Mrs. John Jefferson, Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and two grandsons.
