Last Rites For Wilfred Goldsmith Former Resident

Clarence - Wilfred H. Goldsmith, Savanna, Ill., died in a Savannah hospital, Jan. 13 after being a patient there for the past month.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Hunter-Jones Memorial Home with the Rev. Lee Clendenning officiating. Burial was in the Savanna Township Cemetery.

Wilfred H. Goldsmith was born the son of William and Emma (Horstman) Goldsmith in Clarence on Aug. 28, 1905. He married Louise M. Milota on Jan. 30, 1929 in Tipton.

Mr. Goldsmith had been a resident of Savanna for the past 22 years. He was a retired railroad engineer from the Milwaukee Road, where he had been employed for 22 years.

Mr. Goldsmith was a member of the local Brotherhood of Locomotive and Fire Engineers.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. Emma Goldsmith, Clarence; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Gloria) Greeve, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Laurence (Betty) Arno, Savanna, Ill.; a son, William W., Clinton; six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Karl (Bernice) Schnipkoweit, Clarence.

His father preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1964.
