Sarah E. Fritcher was born in Montgomery county, New York, on September 4th, 1841. She died at their home east of Massillon on Monday, September 26th.

Deceased came to Illinois with her parents in about 1850. She was united in marriage with Clark Mowry in 1859 in Bureau county, Ills. They came to Iowa in 1864 and located on a farm three and one-half miles northeast of Lowden, just over the line in Clinton county. About fifteen years ago they moved to Cedar county and for the past ten years they resided near Massillon, having thus resided in this neighborhood for 46 years, and the members of the family are among the most prominent people.

Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mowry, four of whom preceded their mother in death. Her husband, six sons, one daughter, 27 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, as also one brother and two sisters survive to mourn Mother Mowry's demise.

Mrs. Mowry died of brights disease. She had been ailing for the past ten years, but took worse about a week before her death.

Funeral was held yesterday at 11 a.m. with services at the Massillon church and interment in the Massillon cemetery. Rev. E. Guetzlaff of Lost Nation conducted the services.

There were a great many beautiful floral pieces brought as last tokens of respect.

Among the relatives from the distance who attended the funeral were Abe Fritcher of Leavenworth, Kans., brother of deceased; Mrs. Lydia Cave of Perry, Iowa, her niece. Also Mr. Mowry's brothers and sisters, Mrs. Laurean Smith of Fremont, Nebr., Mrs. Julia Green and Frank Mowry of Glendale, Rhode Island and Atwell Mowry and family of Moline, Ills.
