Clarence - Funeral services were held Thursday, March 3 for Henry F. Meyer, 73, at 1:30 p.m. in St. John United Church of Christ with Dr. C. W. Ebbert officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir with Sybil Klatt at the organ. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lavern Meyer, Larry Meyer, Edwin Decker, Jr., Allen Ibsen, Robert Hunwardsen and Wayne Butler. Honorary pallbearers were Lowell Meyer and Steven Meyer.
The flowers were in charge of Mrs. James Mitchell, Mrs. Robert Hunwardsen, Mrs. Wayne Butler and Diane Ibsen.
Mr. Meyer died at his home Feb. 28. He was born Feb. 4, 1893 at Steeleville, Ill. and was married to Marie Edler at Lowden on Sept. 6, 1916. He farmed a part of his life and was employed a number of years at Penny's Meat Market.
Survivors are his wife, 3 sons, Albert, Anamosa; Harry, Oxford Junction; Lloyd, Keota, two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Irene) Decker and Mrs. George (Evelyn) Ibsen, 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also a brother Dick Meyer of Bennett, a half-brother, Elmer Von Roden, Cedar Rapids and a half-sister, Mrs. Francis Schoff, Lowden.
