Richard Everett Hill, son of James and Elizabeth McClung Hill, was born in Inland township near Bennett on February 13, 1882, and departed this life on March 29, 1952, at his late home in Cedar Bluff.

He was educated in the public schools of Cedar county and spent practically all of his life here except for a short time which was spent elsewhere.

He was a member of the Cedar County Fair Association and served as its marshal for many years. He was a member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 24 A.F. & A.M. at Rochester, Iowa.

On May 29, 1915, at Rock Island, Ill., he was married to Nellie Stout, who survives him.

Besides his wife, he leaves a brother and a sister, Mrs. Martha Atkinson of Sigourney, a number of relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted March 31, 1952, at the Sheets funeral home in Tipton with Gordon Smith and the Rochester Masonic lodge officiating and burial in the Shawver cemetery near Cedar Bluff, Iowa.
