Former Stanwood Woman Succumbs Sunday at Marion

Marion - Funeral services for Eva E. Hotz, 59, were held in the First Methodist church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd Kellams, officiating.

Mrs. Hotz died Sunday, Dec. 3 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. She was a resident of Stanwood and Olin until moving to Marion 6 years ago.

Eva E. Tenley Hotz was born Oct. 23, 1908 at Stanwood, the daughter of William A. and Orpha A. Sisler Tenley. She was married on Sept. 24, 1929 to Eldon H. Hotz at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mrs. Hotz was a member of the Olin Methodist church and was a department store manager at Younkers, Lindale Plaza, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Eldon; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Evans, Marion; a grandson, Jack Evans and 3 brothers, Glenn, Forrest and Howard Tenley, all of Stanwood. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ora Tenley.

Burial was in Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Eva Hotz Services Are at Cedar Rapids

Funeral services were held Dec. 6 in the First Methodist church in Marion for Eva E. Hotz who died unexpectedly at Cedar Rapids, Dec. 3.

Mrs. Hotz, daughter of William and Orpha Sisler Tenley, was born at Stanwood, Oct. 23, 1908. She received her education in the Stanwood school and lived in Stanwood until her marriage to Mr. Hotz. She made her home in Olin until 6 years ago when they moved to Marion.

She is survived by her husband, Eldon, a daughter and 3 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ora.
