Mrs. Bertha Ford, a well known Cedar county pioneer woman, died at her late home in Tipton Wednesday morning July 2, following an illness of several months.

Mrs. Ford was born in Bennett July 28, 1879. Funeral services will be held at the Sheets funeral home Saturday afternoon, July 5th at 2:00 o'clock, with the Rev. C. A. Long of the Methodist church in charge, and interment will be in the Wilton cemetery.

Survivors include one son Herbert; 2 brothers, John Blair of Fairfield and George of Tipton; 3 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bertha Ann Blair was born the daughter of George and Mary C. Blair in Bennett, Iowa, July 28, 1879, and passed away at her home in Tipton, July 2, 1952, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 26 days.

On January 25, 1906, she was united in marriage to George W. Ford and to this union were born three sons, Wilbur J., Hilbert B. and Herbert U. Her husband, Wilbur and Hilbert have preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son Herbert of Tipton, a daughter-in-law Mrs. Ina Ford of Tipton, three grandchildren, Hilbert U. Ford, Judith Ann Ford and Terry Blair Ford, two great-granddaughters, Deborah Lee Ford and Rebecca Ann Ford, two brothers John Blair and George Blair.

Mrs. Ford spent her girlhood and married life in Bennett community and was a member of the Methodist church there. Thirty years ago she moved to Tipton where she made her home until the time of her death. She was a member of Zion Guild and an active member until she became ill.

She was devoted as a mother and grandmother and was loved by her family and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 5, 1952 at 2 p.m. in the Sheets funeral home, with Rev. A. C. Long officiating and burial in Wilton Junction cemetery.
