Rites Held for Chancey Conner

Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Chancey H. Conner, 67, were held Thursday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at the Horner Funeral Home, with Rev. James Nelson officiating.

Mr. Conner died May 29 at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a 2 month illness.

Chancey Homer Conner was born Dec. 3, 1899, the son of George and Louella Studer Conner. He received his education in the Mechanicsville schools. Other than the time he spent in the U.S. Army in 1942 and 1943, he spent all of his life farming in the Mechanicsville area.

He is survived by a nephew, Keith Conner, Mechanicsville.

His parents and brother, Harry, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were Donald Puffer, Glenn Farrington, Herbert Platner, Howard Rinehart, Forest Johnson and Emil Baxa.

Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
