Miss Agnes Earle, Tipton, Summoned

Miss Agnes Earl, 71, died Monday morning October 29 at Comfort Harbor Nursing Home in Milan, Ill., where she had been ill for many months.

Agnes Lindsay Earle was born in Tipton, Iowa Sept. 19, 1880, and was the daughter of John and Anna Lanigan Earle. She was a graduate of the Tipton school, a teacher in the community, and for many years clerked in the Hauck Cook Dry Goods store. She worked until about five years ago when she stayed at home to care for her sister, Mary Downing, who preceded her in death by two years.

She lived in Tipton all her life, was an active member of St. Mary's Guild and St. Mary's church choir. She was a member of the J.F.F. club.

She is survived by her niece, Catherine A. Downing, who is supervisor of home economics in the Davenport, Iowa, schools and many cousins of this vicinity.

The rosary was recited at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Sheets funeral home.

The funeral mass was held at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at St. Mary's church with the Rev. Edward F. Collins officiating at the Requiem high mass. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, Tipton, Iowa.
