Mrs. Ella Deardorf, esteemed pioneer resident of Tipton, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Russell Willer, Tuesday morning, May 6, after many weeks of frail health. She was a patient in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, for several weeks suffering from a severe attack of illness and returned to the Willer home a short time ago. Last Thursday, at her own request, she attended a meeting of the W.S.C.S. of the Methodist church where she was especially honored.

Mrs. Deardorf was born April 19, 1867, in Rochester and has lived her entire life in this community. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Willer of Tipton and Mrs. Helen Frink of Tama, several grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, May 8, with the Rev. Leo Wolfe officiating, and interment in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
