Accident Victim Buried Dec. 19 at Mechanicsville

Mechanicsville - Services were held for Leonard R. Pieper at 2 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Horner funeral home with Rev. James Nelson officiating.

Pieper was fatally injured by a falling tree on Dec. 16.

Leonard R. Pieper, 52, was born at Olin the son of Ray and Ethel Brenneman Pieper. He was married in Princeton, Missouri to Mrs. Alberta Myerson Sept. 30, 1963. He served in the United States army in 1943 and 44. He worked at road construction and on the farm.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta, brothers, Ernest and Everett both of Lisbon, Donald, Mt. Vernon and Melvin, address unknown. Also 4 step children, Mrs. Clair (Marlene) Unruh; LaVern and Thomas Myers and Mrs. Marilyn Wiggons, Waterloo.

His parents and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Velma) Nanke, preceded him in death.

Larry Siebels, Francis Brown, Leon Havel, Bill Hass, Clifford Dickey and John Koppenhaver were pallbearers. Burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
