Funeral services for William C. Hartman, 74, will be held Thursday, Dec. 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden, with the Rev. Arthur Tinge officiating. Burial will be in the Van Horne cemetery south of Lowden.

A life resident of the Lowden area, Mr. Hartmann died early Tuesday at the Tipton Custodial home where he had been a patient for 2 years.

He was born near Lowden Jan. 31, 1894, the son of William and Sophie Butterbrodt Hartmann. He attended a rural school and farmed with his parents until moving to Lowden in 1924.

Mr. Hartmann was treasurer and custodian of Zion church for many years and was a life member of the church. He never married and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Carl (Sophie) Dircks and 2 nieces. His parents and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
