Funeral Today For Mrs. Green

Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Green, 83, will be held Thursday in the First Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville at 10 a.m. Officiating will be her son, the Rev. William Green, and Rev. James Nelson. Vocalists will be Mrs. LeRoy Wendt and Mrs. Floyd Siver, with Mrs. Elmer Littig as organist.

Mrs. Green died Tuesday morning, April 9, at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, where she had been a patient for nearly 2 weeks.

Mrs. Green, widow of Gerald G. Green, was born March 28, 1885, on a farm near Nashua and had lived in Cedar Rapids approximately 60 years before moving to Mechanicsville 5 years ago.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Priscilla Bible class, the Federated Women's club and the Martha church circle in Mechanicsville; the Cedar Rapids Knitting club and St. Paul's Methodist church, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Hugh Lamont, Mechanicsville; 2 sons, Paul B. of Houston, Texas, the Rev. William Green of Cedar Falls, and Harry of Cedar Rapids; 7 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and 2 sisters, Mrs. Leslie Apple of Meth-Wick Manor and Mrs. William Dunwoody of Valejo Park, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Hugh G. Lamont, Hugh J. Lamont, Donald Green, Rev. William H. Green, Harry Green and Paul Green.

Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Nashua, with Horner Funeral Home in charge.
