Final rites for Mrs. Lavern (Theodosia M.) Meyer, 73, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, March 18, 1989 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Pallbearers were Elwood Hasenbank, Robert Miller, Tom Corrick, Robert Hasselbusch, James Sawyer and Dick Bachman. The St. John's Adult choir sang. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was organist. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Mrs. Meyer died at the Del E. Webb Memorial hospital, Sun City West, Ariz. March 11.

The daughter of Lee and Myrtle Moore Ruggles, she was born at Birmingham Jan. 23, 1916. She graduated from Birmingham high school and the University of Iowa. She married Lavern Meyer at Birmingham Feb. 26, 1938. He died in 1984. She taught in the Clarence schools for 40 years. She had been in Sun City the past 5 years.
