Funeral services for Ernest B. Dewell, 65, Clarence, were held at the United Methodist church, Clarence, May 14 with the Rev. Donald Kehrli officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Kirchner, R. G. Weatherwax, Lavern Meyer, Douglas Cashman, Warren Claney and Charles Zouzel Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Dethmann and Robert Yock. Mrs. Albert Cooperider was organist and Mrs. Howard Folk were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Dewell died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, May 11, where he had been a patient for several weeks.

The son of Howard and Lulu Belcher, he was born at Clarence June 3, 1909. He was married to Odema Waite at Cedar Falls March 10, 1934. He was a farmer and truck driver.

Dewell was a member of Masonic Lodge 501 and district lecturer for the lodge. He was a member of the United Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Sharon) Stiff, Tipton; a granddaughter, Mindy; a sister, Mrs. Anvy Spear, Tipton, a brother, Harold, Clarence and nieces and nephews.
