Mrs Harry (Irma) Decker, 85, of Clarence died February 20th in St Lukes hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services were held Sunday February 23 at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Mrs James Sawyer, Jr. was organist. Burial was in the Clarence Cemetery. The Rev Donald Kehrli officiated.

Irma Decker, wife of Harry Decker, and the youngest of eight children of Wilson and Jane Bixler was born July 15, 1889 on the Bixler homestead now occupied by the Merlyn Bixler family north of town.

She attended nearby country schools and later graduated from the Clarence Public School. She was a teacher in country school for a time and later was an art student at Cornell in Mount Vernon.

Irma was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and took part in the church activities.

Irma and Harry were married May 22, 1915 and were looking forward to their 60th anniversary.

She is survived by her husband; also several nieces and nephews.
