Funeral services for Ethel M. Moffit, 85, Stanwood, were held at the United Methodist church, Stanwood, Dec. 2 with the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.

Pallbearers were Paul and Lewis Levsen, Arnold and Howard Freeman, Craig Irons and Mearl Crist. Honorary Pallbearers were Lester Kelly, Vern Freeman, Donald Smith and Arnold Leach. Mrs. Arnold Freeman, Mrs. Howard Freeman and Mrs. Herman Smith were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Moffit died at the Clarence nursing home Nov. 28. She had been a patient there for 2 years.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Churchill, she was born at Olin Feb. 28, 1890. She was married to Frank Moffit at Tipton July 10, 1907.

She was a past matron of the Clarence chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Stanwood cemetery board and active in the Methodist Women's church group.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Barkhurst, West Liberty, a son, Carson, Clarence and 2 grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband.
