Mechanicsville -- Services for William A. Boyd, 90, were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Horner Funeral home with the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating at the service. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brian Coatnee, Craig Coatnee, Shawn Coatnee, Jack L. Boyd, Michael A. Blair and Robert R. Blair.

Mr. Boyd died Nov. 28 in Cedar Rapids. He was a resident of the Americana Nursing home.

William Austin Boyd was born Oct. 17, 1885 at Mechanicsville the son of Andrew and Mary Boyd. He spent his entire life in Cedar county. He was married to Grace M. Richards on June 23, 1901 and they were the parents of 4 children.

Mr. Boyd was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Modern Woodmen of the World. He and his wife operated the Cedar Café and Mom's Café in Tipton for many years before retiring to Mechanicsville in 1962.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Jack.

Survivors include 2 sons, Clifford of Des Moines and Burdette of St. Paul, Minn., and a daughter, Mrs. David Yeater, Cedar Rapids; also 2 sisters, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
