Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Mae West, 77, were held at the Horner funeral home Dec. 3 with the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
Kenneth Coppess, Gregory and Eugene West, Paul Roman, Dan Balster and William Schroeder were pallbearers. Frances Robinson was the organist.
Mrs. West died at Anamosa Community hospital Dec. 1.
The daughter of Edgar Maxwell and Nancy Melissa Kline Tharp, she was born in Delaware county June 11, 1898 and attended rural schools near Delhi. She was married to Otis Leroy West at Rock Island, Ill. Jan. 18, 1918.
She had lived in both Cedar and Jones county.
She is survived by 5 sons, Edgar, Cedar Rapids; William, Rowley; Robert, Ft. Dodge; Roy, Ravenna, Ohio and Darrell, Onslow; 4 daughters, Mrs. Nancy Coppess and Mrs. Jean Roman, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Ruth Bolster, Marion and Mrs. Velma Rasmussen, Maquoketa; also 3 sisters, a half sister and a half brother, 34 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, 2 brothers, 2 half sisters and a half brother.
