Griggs A. Sechler, of Tipton, a former resident of Clarence, died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Thursday after a few days illness of pneumonia. Born in Pennsylvania in 1869, he moved to Iowa with his parents. For many years he farmed south of Clarence, later operating an implement business in Clarence before moving to Tipton. He is survived by his wife, one son, Clarence, an engineer in Hawaii, and one brother, Bert Sechler, of Tipton. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at a Tipton funeral home with the Rev. William Crossley, pastor of the Tipton Methodist church, officiating. Burial was at the Tipton Masonic cemetery and was in charge of Cedar Lodge No. 11, A. F. and A. M., of which the deceased was a member.
