Albert Witmer

TIPTON – Albert J. Witmer, 65, Rochester, died Tuesday evening at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Street Baptist Church, Tipton. The Rev. E. C. Wolfe will officiate. Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Sheets & Son Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

The son of Jacob A. and Olive L. Minor Witmer, he was born April 5, 1917, near Moscow. He was a life resident of the Rochester area.

His marriage to Mildred E. Yerington took place April 2, 1936, in Muscatine. He had formerly operated the Cedar River Forest Products Co.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry of Moscow and Gary of Rochester; and three grandchildren.

His parents, one sister and a brother preceded him in death.
