In an obit for Jerry P Jones Atlantic News Tel May 1 1915: Again has the angel of death entered our peaceful village and removed from our midst an old and true honored citizen, Jerry P Jones. His familiar face will be missed in many places particularly at the post office, where he was seen daily ready for the morning mail. His seat in the M E church is now vacant, for Jerry was a faithful attendant and a life long Methodist. Meade Post has another vacancy, for it has been the custom of the GAR to assign the duty of decorating comrades' graves to Jerry and his little school girl friends. he always headed the procession to the cemetery and was never so happy the year round as on Memorial day and with his little school girl brigade, marching to the city of the dead. The funeral services were held in the M E church Friday afternoon and interment made in evergreen cemetery. he is survived by one brother and several nieces, among whom is Mrs Henry Dieatrick, near Anita.
