P 270 Cass Co History Book 1980 under Gardner Family - an uncle by marriage to the Gardner Family Children in Atlantic was Louis Bostedo, Department store owner . Atlantic's most famous inventor. To make change & wrap packages more efficiently he devised first the overhead change carrier, which was propelled by wires by the sales personnel to a central elevated office. Later a basket capable of carrying a quantity of dry goods that could likewise be serviced at the overhead office. Finally he developed the air tube system through which capsules could be sent for long distances by compressed air. he sold the inventions to the Lamson Co in Chicago which manufactured them.
