There is a stone in Nevins Cemetery Raquette River St. Lawrence County New York for Truman Orton, born 1800, died 1879, buried in Iowa. There is another stone there for Elvira Gleason his wife with dates 1810-1836 but the death date may be in question. This is posted at FindAGrave.com. This Truman is apparently the son of Gideon Orton from Fairfax, Franklin Co., VT. He is also reported to have died in 1877. 1850 census indicates a sons Truman born ca 1843 and Byron born ca 1850.
Hope to have more posted in late April 2010.
