My great grand father Conrad Hank and wife Elizabeth moved to Wiota between 1890-1893 with their seven children from Hopewell Township, Marshall County, Illinois. They farmed 160 acres of land owned in the SW corner of Section 27 in Benton Township. Three addition children were born between 1895 and 1900. On Sep. 6th 1900, 12 year old August died, followed by Conrad on Oct. 14th and Elizabeth on Oct. 31st of the same year. All three are buried in the Wiota Catholic Cemetery. The remaining family member returned to Illinois .
