OBITUARY
Esther Bruff Miles, daughter of James B. and Sarah Bruff, was born Oct. 9th, 1835 at Damascus, Ohio.
She departed this life at Salem Oregon Mar. 26th, 1921. Aged 85 years, 5 months, and 17 days.
She was united in marrage [sic marriage] with Isaac N. Miles, March 28, 1877 at West Branch, Ia., where they resided till 1884 when they took up Indian work at White's Institute, Lee Co., Iowa.
In 1888 they moved to Oregon. After coming to Oregon they lived at Salem, Scotts Mills, Crooked Finger and Newberg where he passed away Oct. 30, 1899.
She remained in Newberg till Dec. 1906 when she came to Salem to make her home with her niece, Alice E. Edmundson, where she has lived ever since.
Esther B. Miles is survived by one sister, Elizabeth B. Kirk of Salem, Oregon, and two step-daughters, Prudence M. Crosbee of Brewster, Maine and Abbie Edwards of Tillamook, Oregon.
She was a birthright member in the Friends Church and at the time of her death was a member of South Salem Meting. [sic Meeting}
